Tonight, I am ready to

煲冬瓜!

wo zhun bei hao le。

RUN!

Met up with Esther for lunch today.

And everytime I see this sign, I start to giggle.

Doesn't this sign look like it's telling people where to run in order to escape a fire-breathing dragon (notice the flames)? RUN!

I really miss IFC.

Cafe Corridor

Read about this cafe from Ebi's post.
Finally went there with Ada after dragonboat practice today. =)

This place is known for their coffees. But I was really attracted to the cute doodling.

So the minute I got in line, I asked the guy at the cashier if he can doodle on my latte. He gave that "what-are-you-four?" look. LOL

But he was a good sport. And I got what I wanted. =)

Ada even let me pick first cuz I was so excited. Life rocks! =)

HS Joke From Maggie

If the husband has diabetes, what does the wife have?

Highlight to see answer: cavities.

Cycling at Tai Wai

While cycling today, someone was playing Starship's "Nothing's gonna stop us now" with portable speakers!

Jan was very surprised that I actually know that song.

The truth is I also have it on my ipod. But just not sure if I wanna blast it out loud...keke

Tai-O Welcomes You!

Group picture -
The person helping us with the photo totally cut Jan out! This is what happens when you don't look like the rest of us. haha

Poor guy! >.< S
pace

1st Stop -- Dolphin Ride
The ride was roughly 20 minutes and everyone was happy/lucky to see the pink dolphin (even though it was for 2 seconds). hehe

2nd Stop - Tai-O Village
Everyone was pigging out and I got some shrimp paste for my dad as souvenir.

3rd Stop - Cycling!
It was tons of fun peddling around the village.
And even more entertaining to watch Stanley learn how to ride a bicycle. haha

I risked my life climbing down the cliffs to take these two pics. But the model on the right wasn't cooperating!

He refused to 接近女色!!

Fearless

Still can't believe I did what I did on Wednesday.

Working for over 5 yrs and it's my first time shouting back at a senior. That took alot of guts and uncontrollable anger boiling inside.

Was it worth it? Probably not. haha
But it's not important anymore.

All I know is 未來的日子應該不會好過。SIGH

五塊田 Clearwater Bay

According to the 行山王 book in our hands, the hike was 2 stars.

Even kids can do it!

Then we kinda took a detour and the 2 stars suddenly became 4!

That's life though. A few unexpected surprises here and there.

But we made it!

Though it doesn't explain why Jack was hugging onto John so tightly...

Below are some of the cool pics Kay took. =)

ORBIS Walk for Sight 2009

ORBIS-Merrill Lynch Walk for Sight is a charity walk to support sight-saving missions in China. We all signed up for the 12km.

Originally we had less people. Then we bumped into Ed & co.!

Of course - the more the merrier! =)

On our way to the shuttle bus...

I think this is definitely a hint, circled in red "勿快".
If you wanna wait for your friends, you need to slow down.

People joined the trail for different reasons...

Improve body balance...

Jump off cliffs...

Anger management...

ok, wth....?

Babe-watching.

Helping kids realize their superpower dreams!

But ultimately, it was to have a good time and for a good cause! =)

山頭霸王 RIMM 2009

Raleigh International Mountain Marathon is a 2-day-1-night mountaineering competition.

Participates in teams of 2-4, have to decide their own route to reach check points. They also need to camp at a specified campsite.

Because the location was kept a secret, even us volunteers didn't know where the campsite was until we got on the bus! It turns out the route is from Ma On Shan --> Sai Kung.

Our team was in charge of setting up / decorating the area.
My first time setting up tents and marquees!

All these years in HK, I still couldn't bring myself to "v". haha
A "thumbs-up" is just as cool, right? =)

Kudos for the participants because it was freezing cold today!!!

Lunch @ Ming Garden

S: You know I didn't realize Milk was a gay movie.
JP: But you do realize towards end of the movie, right?

Even though Steve claims he does, he looked so confused.
But that's how he looks most of the time anyway! HAHAHA.

I think our team still owes him 人情 for his wedding...while he owes us CNY money!

So what you say, Steve...are we even? =)

Friday Fill Ins

And...here we go!

1. Buying dinner for a homeless man was my last random act of kindness.

2. Another place, another time - will I still be me?

3. Never question in matters of the heart.

4. Coffee, tea or me?

5. Hopefully we all end up in the same place, taking separate paths.

6. Our encounter reminds me that there is no such thing as a coincidence.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching Shopaholic, tomorrow my plans include volunteering for RIMM 2009 and Sunday, I want to finish the Orbis-ML 12k!

大快活!!

While Iris and I were lining up at Fairwood for dinner, a homeless man was standing there for a long time.

He looked like he hasn't eaten in days. And I felt really bad.

Why should some of us be entitled to so much more than others? Its not fair. So I decided two things: (1) I am probably a communist deep down inside and (2) I will treat him!

[In cantonese]

S: Mister, do you wanna eat? I can treat you!
B: Really???? Thank you!!
S: What do you feel like eating?
B: Curry beef brisket with rice.
S: Any drinks?
B: Milk tea?
S: Hot or cold?
B: Hot.
B: Thank you thank you!

The guy was beaming. And offered me the 50 cents he had.
But mom is right. Sometimes it's happier to give than to receive.

2009 CLSA Outward Bound...

...and how Lydee and I gave up in the end. haha

L: we need to collect $4000 donation before Mar 12 ...
L: i.e. we have to go around for donations ... (aka beg)
S: $4,000????? I thought its $1,000?
L: it's 4 underprivileged kids to join outward bound going fwd
S: So that $4,000 is optional...LOL
L: No it's not optional though.
L: Teams that fails to raise $4k, will not be qualified for the race.

S: Oh shoot...that means we have to raise $1,000 each!
S: Assuming $100 each, I need to find 10 ppl w/in my network.
S: That's going to be tough...ppl in hk are so stingy!!!!!!!!!!
L: LOL it sounded so mean, but yet, it's so true.

S: We seriously need to pull some relationship cards...
S: ie: Eugene LOL
L: LOL ... i am not sure about that...
S: Gum dim ar...shall we pursue or silently exit? LOL

[close the door please.]

Beat the Banana Run 2009

Everyone looks so anxious to beat the Banana Man! keke

And we got to take pictures with him! =)

His name is Wing Tak Wong, who actually came in second for the 3km race last year.

While Bonita was helping out at the registration desk, Sheila and I was in charge of crowd control. But I don't think we were too good at giving directions....

If the runners actually listened to us, they would all be either out in the water or into the bushes! haha

No. 11 came in 1st place for the 5km race and No. 15 for the 3km.
No. 11 looks really familiar...where have I seen him before?

Click here for more pics taken by Joe Wong.
